Interview #1

Today, I interviewed Mr. Cup - Choy. I asked him if there was any problem he had with our school or anything he would like to change and if there was a problem, was there any way he or the student body could fix it by using physics. He said that he would actually want the permission to have more land cleared so he could expand his garden which currently is growing different varieties of kalo and ʻuala. With more land he could plant more native hawaiian plants which he could use to teach the students how to use living skills, so if any of the students needed to use these skills they would know. He also said that if the school administration and even the organizations that have more power over our school could allow people to come and talk and teach the students who are willing to learn different living skills then it would better them in the future and also maybe steer them in what they actually want to do in life. Even though some of Cup-Choyʻs problems may not be able to be solved using physics it definitely helped our group out to what we might want to do for our project.

  1. I think this is a great idea. Maybe physical plant could utilize the slopes of grass along Akahi stairs. They could create multiple terraces due to the incline. It would serve as a place of learning, it would beautify our campus, and also stop the use of the hill as a footpath. Great job
